Indications
- Couple undergoing pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT).
- Surplus embryos out of an IVF/ICSI cycle are frozen for future use.
- Unsuccessful first Embryo transfer attempt
- Pregnancy loss (miscarriage) after conceiving through IVF.
- To plan second child (without undergoing repeat cycle)

Process:
- In the IVF process, the woman is administered with hormonal injections causing her ovaries to produce more number of follicles thereby more number of oocytes (eggs).
- The eggs and the sperms from the partner are fertilized in the IVF lab resulting in several embryos.
- The selected embryos (maximum 3 of day 3 or 2 of day 5) are then transferred to the uterus of the woman.
- Remaining embryos are frozen by the process of vitrification.
Success rate:
There are relatively high chances of thawing good quality of embryos after cryopreservation. It has been recorded in researches that women deliver healthy babies when thawed embryos are used.
